This beautiful birch tree grows around 1-2’ per year, reaching a max height of 30-40’ at maturity. It grows in various soil types but prefers moist, well drained areas. It most often grows multi-stemmed, but can sometimes occur as a single stem tree. This cultivar is also commonly known as Gray Birch and is resistant to the bronze birch borer. It provides a valuable source of food for game birds, sapsuckers, and songbirds. The chalky white bark of this cultivar does not peel like the Paper Birch.
