Slow-medium growth to a mature height of 40-60' and a 20-30' spread; shallow roots. Soil conditions include moist to wet, well-drained; sand, loam, clay, acidic. Like most conifers, the Fraser Fir gives many species of birds a place for nesting, roosting, and general protection from winter weather. Red squirrels also eat the seeds from the cones that are produced, as well as the terminal buds of this tree. Deer msy browse on the Fraser Fir and enjoy consuming their soft needles.
