This hardwood deciduous grows at a medium rate of 12”-24” a year, reaching a maximum height of 60’-80’ and a spread of 60’-80’at maturity. Soil includes loam, clay, well-drained, with a preference of moist acidic to neutral conditions. Production of acorns is attractive to small mammals and other wildlife. The beautiful tree will add color, provide shade, and be a great addition to landscape. Dark green leaves on top with a silvery-white color bottom changing to gold tones in the autumn. If pruned during the wrong time of year it becomes highly susceptible to OAK WILT.
