The Downy Serviceberry has a medium growth rate at 13-24" per year, reaching a maximum heigh of 15-25' and a spread of 15-25' at maturity. Soil conditions are moist and well-drained. It can tolerate acidic to neutral, sandy, loam, or clay soils. White flowers bloom in the sumer, but by late summer/early fall purple berries will develop. The berries will attract bees, butterflies, small birds, and other pollinators.
