Conservation Is An Action Word

Updated: Mar 14, 2020

When I think action I think of an Adam West type figure actively combating some sort of flamboyant foe while bright colorful fight scene words flash on the TV screen.

Ok, so those last few may have never been in an action scene and they might not align with what you envision when you hear the term "action word". Let there be no mistake though, conservation encompasses a wide variety of actions that reach far beyond that of a simple *DIG!* Though we may not be doing any "qunckkking" (whatever that may be), we've been buzzing with activity here at the District preparing for all of the exciting things (and their respective actions) to come this year.

Our past projects have varied in size, scope, and location. They range from rain garden installations to building chemical storage facilities for large farmers to educating the public on a wide range of topics through workshops and outreach events. All of the work we do is geared towards conserving and protecting the abundant natural resources here in our community.

Come take a glimpse at conservation in action!

Regardless of when or where or how, working together is the best way to get things done. Not only is it fun to get together and work as a team on a project, but there is nothing like taking that step back to admire the work that you just completed. The work is never ending, but it is 100% worth the effort that is put in.

We are so very proud of all of the wonderful people, groups, organizations, and other partners we have on board with the Genesee Conservation District!

"Conservation is a cause that has no end.

There is no point at which we will say our work is finished."

-Rachel Carson

Stay tuned to hear more about the local conservation projects that are taking place within our community. We always welcome more helping hands. Come join us anytime!

Together we can, and will, ensure that our world stays just as healthy and beautiful as it possibly can. Together we can make a difference, a difference in an area where the work is never done.

Our work is strong.

Our work is deep.

Our work is life.
