This small shrub grows 1-2’ per year, reaching 6-12’ at maturity. It grows well in various soil types, but prefer wet sites. They make a great addition to the edges of ponds and wetland areas. These shrubs are attractive to many birds and butterflies. Their summer blossoms bloom in a small 1” ball-like cluster of white flowers. A hard, ball-like fruit persists throughout winter.
