This hardwood grows at a rapid rate of 2' or more per year, reaching a maximum height of 70’-100’ and a spread of 50’-60’ at maturity. Prefered soils include sand, loam, and clay with a preference of well-drained, moist, and high organic content. The sycamore is a habitat and food source for birds and other wildlife. The beautiful tree will add color, provide shade, and be a great addition to larger areas. Dark green leaves on top with a silvery-white colored bottom changing to red or burgundy in the fall.
