This hardwood deciduous tree from the magnolia family grows at a rapid rate of 24”+ per year, reaching a maximum height of 70’-90’ and a spread of  40’ at maturity. Appropariate soil types includes sand, loam, and clay with a preference for well-drained, high organic content, and moist. It provides habitat and food sources for birds, including hummingbirds, and small mammals. The beautiful ornamental shade tree will add color with its spring yellow tulip shaped flowers. Its leaves are bright green changing to brown and gold in the fall.
